Volunteering

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS?  HOW DO YOU WANT TO HELP YOUR CHURCH?

Our church could not operate without volunteers! As we share our treasure, we also need to share our time and talent – each to his/her ability. There are many needs and opportunities – but it is sometimes quite difficult to match people with those opportunities. You can help by completing an Interest Survey – indicating the depth of involvement you wish to have.

You help to determine the range of activities and programs available to members and friends. Knowing your interests gives those who are planning activities an indication that you might want to know about them and be involved. Knowing your talents, skills and background can also give the leadership of the church a wide range of people to call on for quick answers to questions – a short term involvement in a special project – or an even longer term opportunity of serving on a board or committee.

Some examples:

You could be paired with a shut-in who needs a ride to church – or the grocery store – or the doctor - if you indicate you could do that!

You could be asked to be a Greeter on Sunday – if you indicate you would like to do that!

You could help with our children for an hour on Wednesday afternoon – if you indicate you would like to do that!

You could be asked to bake cookies for a special activity – if you like to do that!

You would like to help set up communion? You could be asked to serve on the Altar Guild!

This list could go on and on!

The goal is to have a completed survey for EVERY member – regardless of present or past involvement in church activities – and to have those surveys updated as interests and needs change. Your privacy will be respected – as you indicate. Surveys are available in the Narthex. Please return completed surveys to the church. Thank you.
