Where Community and Faith Come Together

People who visit Naples UCC for worship or who connect with Naples UCC online for worship often share that they discover the congregation and ministers to be kind, warm, inclusive, and friendly. They describe the worship service itself to be "traditional" yet very relevant to everyday life and current events. Many experience the sacred music in worship to be inspirational as well as diverse in genre. The preaching is often described as "focused on the good news," thoughtful, caring, and compelling.

SPECIAL SERVICES

We offer special worship services throughout the year, including Advent Meditation services, Christmas Eve Services, Lent Meditation Services, Easter Services, and World Wide Communion Sunday (the first Sunday in October). See below for details on holiday services (subject to updates).

Christmas Eve Services

By far the busiest time in the life of our church is the season of Advent, culminating in the pinnacle of our services, Christmas Eve. We are happy to offer several Christmas Eve services and we hope you will join us in person or online as we honor the birth of Christ. Nursery care is available for all services except the 10 p.m. service.

Christmas Eve Family Service (10 a.m.)

This  morning service is tailored to children with a special message about the birth of Jesus.

A Candlelight Festival of Lessons & Carols (6 p.m.)

The candlelight service and festival of lessons and carols features the Sanctuary Choir, Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and special musical guests.

A Candlelight Festival of Lessons & Carols (8 p.m.)

This is a later candlelight service and festival of lessons and carols; the Sanctuary Choir, Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and special musical guests will perform.

Communion Candlelight Service with Lessons & Carols (10 p.m.)

This is the latest candlelight service and final service of the night. Communion will be given to all who wish to participate (everyone is invited to God’s table). The Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and special musical guests will perform. (No childcare is offered at this service.)

Lent and Holy Week Services

Mid-Week Lenten Meditations: Every Wednesday in Lent, we offer a Mid-Week Meditation Service. These are in the Sanctuary beginning at noon and feature a short meditation message and a special musical guest.

Palm Sunday: Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. These services are offered at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Nursery care offered during both; Sunday School offered only during the 9 a.m. service. Special musical guests will participate in the services.

Maundy Thursday: This service of quiet reflection observes the Last Supper; communion will be offered. Service begins at 7 p.m. and will feature special musical guests.

Easter Services

For this most sacred holiday, we are happy to offer three Easter services every year and we hope you will join us in person or online as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Please note, though we offer a service tailored to children, families with children are welcome at any service they wish to attend. Nursery care is available for all services but the 7 a.m. sunrise service.

Easter Sunrise Service (7 a.m.)

This special sunrise service takes place at gorgeous Clam Pass Beach. The beach location is approximately one mile from the parking lot; you may walk on the boardwalk or take the shuttle. Shuttle service to Clam Pass begins at 6:00 a.m. because it takes time to shuttle so many out to the beach. You are welcome to walk, but it is approximately a one mile boardwalk. No need to bring chairs as they are provided. Special musical guests will perform. This inspiring service is highly attended.

Easter Sunday Services (9 a.m. or 11 a.m.)

These traditional Easter morning services feature the Sanctuary Choir and Chamber Orchestra. (Overflow seating available.)

FIND YOUR FAITH

Naples United Church of Christ, established in 1973, is known throughout the Naples community, not only for our unique white steeple and our esteemed clergy, but for our support for initiatives that call for social justice and compassion. As a traditional church in terms of worship style, we are a progressive church in terms of openness to a wide theological spectrum and the wide variety of lifestyles and orientations in our culture that seek a welcoming and affirming Christian community.

Naples UCC is a congregational church, which means that involvement and leadership is expected from all our members to do the work of being the church. As a member of the United Church of Christ denomination, we accept the challenge and mutual accountability of being counted as one of many UCC churches that advocate for personal and social responsibility in living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We measure our progress in terms of our core values: Open and Affirming, Mission-Driven, Powerful Worship, Continuing Generosity, Caring Ministry, and Hospitable Fellowship.
